Position Description

As the Head of Innovation Centre within the R&D Proteomics Sciences Division, you will lead innovation initiatives, fostering a culture of creativity and identifying emerging trends. You will lead a skilled team of ~ 15 protein- and molecular biology experts, collaborate with stakeholders and key opinion leaders, and prioritize innovation activities to efficiently meet company objectives and long-term strategy.

We are looking for someone who can continue to grow the team beyond current skill sets, ensuring we remain at the forefront of innovation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Foster an environment that supports next-generation technology and product development within the field of Proteomics.
• Build and develop the Innovation Center team to deliver technical and innovative solutions.
• Mentor and coach team members to nurture talent and professional growth.
• Play a key role in strategic planning and decision-making within the Proteomics Science organization.
• Ensure that the department delivers according to agreed short- and long-term goals.
• Resource the department in line with planned growth and roadmap.
• Collaborate with other teams to achieve R&D goals.
• Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources efficiently.
• Comply with the yearly HR cycle and relevant regulations and quality standards.
• Support decision making forums within research and product development efforts.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant field of Life Science (e.g., Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Bioengineering, Structural Biology) with a minimum of 10 years of experience in research and product development in the life sciences, preferably Proteomics, industry.
• Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
• Experience in leading technical experts as well as managers and being part of management teams. 
• In-depth knowledge of technologies, market trends and customer needs within the field of proteomics, and related workflows.
• Strong track record from driving innovation and in managing complex research projects.
